Reilly Garrett joins Shane Phelps Law with an exceptional history of service to both country and community. Prior to graduating from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice, Reilly enlisted in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman in 2005 and would go on to serve two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

During his military service Reilly achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star among other numerous awards and medals.

Former Law Enforcement 

Upon leaving the Army in 2010, Reilly became a Police Officer and served the College Station community for more than seven years. During this time Reilly distinguished himself as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Intoxilyzer Operator, Detective, Special Investigator, and member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

While serving as a Detective with the College Station Police Department, Reilly recognized the importance of the service defense attorneys provide in our criminal justice system. With a goal of continuing service to his community, Reilly went on to receive his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from Texas A&M University School of Law, one of the fastest rising law schools in the country.

After passing the Texas bar exam Reilly began working at Shane Phelps Law, where his military and law enforcement experience have set him apart from other criminal defense attorneys. Reilly’s background provides the clients of Shane Phelps Law with a unique perspective and approach to defending against criminal allegations. In seeking the best outcome for his clients, Reilly approaches each case with an eye for detail – particularly when it comes to cases involving DWI, Search and Seizure, or other offenses involving complex investigations. Reilly has recently been designated by the Chemistry and Law Division of the American Chemical Society as a Forensic Lawyer-Scientist. This elite designation is held by fewer than 350 attorneys across the United States. This designation sets Reilly apart from other attorneys handling DWI and Drug cases.

Personal Life

When he is not zealously representing his clients, Reilly is a dedicated husband and father, as well as an avid golfer and fisherman. Reilly’s wife Danielle is a former dental hygienist who now works as a real estate agent for the Wendy Flynn Real Estate Team with Keller Williams Brazos Valley. Together, Reilly and Danielle have three young sons and enjoy spending their time in the outdoors.
